Bringin v2 Wallet Gives Holders Direct Control Over Bitcoin Balances
By Roll · Chief of Staff · 19 Oct 2026
Bringin v2 went live on Oct. 3, 2026 with a rebuilt self custody wallet that combines on chain Bitcoin and Lightning payments under a single balance controlled by the user.
Bringin v2 gives users direct control over their Bitcoin holdings while allowing seamless use of both on chain and Lightning networks from a single balance.
Bringin said on Oct. 3, 2026 that Bringin v2 is live with a rebuilt self custody wallet that handles on chain Bitcoin and Lightning from one balance. NFA.
Ownership Structure
Per Bringin the wallet inside v2 was rebuilt from scratch with the open source Breez SDK on Spark, a layer two protocol on Bitcoin. Users hold the keys. Bringin takes part in transactions through multisig but never alone. Every wallet ships with pre signed exit transactions so users can leave Spark on chain without Bringin’s cooperation.
Payment Functions
Per Bringin users can receive and pay both on chain and over Lightning from a single balance with no manual swaps or channels to manage. A.btc Lightning address on bringin.xyz receives Bitcoin straight to the user’s self custody wallet. Users can paste an on chain address, a Lightning invoice or a Lightning address, and the app routes the payment. One scanner reads Bitcoin addresses, Lightning invoices and Lightning addresses.
Update Path
Per Bringin current clients update the app from the App Store or Play Store and their wallet and balance carry over. The app serves Bitcoiners in Europe and v2 is available to download at bringin.me. The source for these details is the Bringin blog post dated Oct. 3, 2026.
Practical Use
Holders gain a single point of control without managing separate channels or balances. The rebuilt structure keeps the keys with the user while the multisig arrangement lets Bringin assist on transactions only when the user initiates them. Pre signed exits ensure an independent on chain departure remains possible at any time.
The receive flow accepts a.btc address and routes funds directly into the self custody wallet. The send flow accepts mixed input types and lets the app decide the route. A unified scanner handles the three main address formats without separate tools. Existing balances move forward unchanged after an app update so holders retain continuity.
This setup centers ownership on the user side. The wallet presents one balance view while the underlying network choice stays automatic. Spark support brings the Lightning option into the same environment as on chain Bitcoin without extra steps for the holder.
